360° video

Also known as: 360-degree video, spherical video, immersive videoIn Portuguese: Vídeo 360°

Short definition

360° video is video filmed in every direction at once, in which a viewer wearing a virtual reality headset can look around as if they were at the filming location.

In plain language

It is recorded with a multi-lens camera that captures the full sphere around it. Unlike a computer-generated environment, it shows real places and people, but the viewer can only turn their head: they cannot walk around inside the video. In healthcare it allows, for example, a bedbound person to visit a beach or a city they know.

In practice, in an RVer session

The RVer library is made up of in-house 360° video (around 50 titles), filmed with a steady camera and no artificial locomotion; Fátima is the most requested destination.
