Base price
Short definition
The base price is the maximum price a contracting authority is prepared to pay for performing all the services or supplies that make up the subject matter of a public contract.
In plain language
It is set in the tender specification and must be justified, for example through market consultations or the costs of previous contracts. As a rule, a tender priced above the base price is excluded. It is not the same as the estimated contract value, which is used to choose the procedure and includes, for example, possible renewals.
