RVer Neuro: cognitive stimulation and assessment in Virtual Reality
Stimulating cognition and collecting useful data are usually two separate tasks. RVer Neuro merges them into one module — training and screening, in the same immersive session.
Traditional cognitive assessment is done with paper, pencil and a stopwatch. It works, but it has costs: it takes up the professional's time, it is hard to standardise between assessors, and it produces data that then has to be transcribed by hand. Cognitive stimulation, meanwhile, usually happens at another moment, with other materials, with no link to the assessment data.
RVer Neuro starts from a simple idea: what if the exercise that stimulates were the same one that measures?
Five exercises with a neuropsychological basis
The module brings together five Virtual Reality exercises designed from recognised neuropsychological tests:
- Trail Making Test — alternating attention and processing speed
- Corsi — visuospatial working memory
- Continuous performance — sustained attention
- Visual search — selective attention
- 3D mental rotation — spatial reasoning
The patient controls each task with the two controllers and head movement. Immersion removes distractions from the environment and makes the task engaging, which helps especially those who struggle to sustain attention in a traditional test.
Real-time results, human interpretation
As the patient performs, the results flow in real time to the clinician's dashboard. There is no manual transcription, and no waiting until the end of the session to know what happened.
It is important to be clear about the limit: the module provides session data, it does not make diagnoses. The clinician interprets the results, cross-references them with the patient's context and decides. RVer Neuro is a support instrument — assessment remains a clinical act.
Training and screening in the same gesture
Because the exercises are based on validated tests, each session serves two purposes at once: it stimulates cognitive function and measures it. This is particularly useful in contexts of ageing, mild cognitive impairment and long-term follow-up, where change over time says more than a single result.
Certification and validation
The RVer platform holds Infarmed Class I Medical Device marking. Specific clinical validation of the Neuro module is in progress, in partnership with a neuropsychology clinic — a process that strengthens the robustness of the data the module produces.
Everything runs locally, with no cloud, which keeps clinical data under the institution's control and in compliance with GDPR.
RVer Neuro does not aim to replace the neuropsychologist. It aims to give them a tool that stimulates the patient, collects standardised data and returns it ready to interpret — saving time without taking the decision away from those who should make it.
