PRR (Recovery and Resilience Plan)

Also known as: Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan, Recuperar PortugalIn Portuguese: PRR (Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência)

Short definition

The PRR is Portugal's plan of reforms and investments funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility, created after the COVID-19 pandemic; its implementation ended on 31 August 2026.

In plain language

The Facility was established by Regulation (EU) 2021/241, as part of NextGenerationEU. In Portugal, the PRR funded, among other areas, the upgrading of social care facilities, such as residential care homes and day centres, and the digital transition in health. With implementation over, there are no new calls, so it is no longer a funding route for new projects.
