Physiotherapy
Short definition
Physiotherapy is the health profession that assesses and intervenes in the body's movement and function, mainly through therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and education, to prevent, recover or maintain functional capacity.
In plain language
Physiotherapists work with people of all ages: after surgery or fractures, in respiratory, neurological or rheumatic conditions, in falls prevention or in musculoskeletal pain. In care settings for older people, they play an important role in maintaining mobility and independence.
