01Before you start
The list is deliberately short. RVer runs independently and does not require integration with existing hospital systems.
A minimum of space
In the waiting room, a stable chair in a quieter corner. During a procedure, the chair or couch the patient is already on. On the ward, the bed itself, with Lying-down mode.
A person in charge per department
Someone in each department that uses the headset, who takes responsibility for it and who we train. No technical knowledge required.
Internet: optional
Playback is 100% offline. The connection is only used for library updates, which can be run at any time.

03Day one
- 01It arrives set up
The headset arrives with the app installed and the scenario library loaded. Team training is included and needs no technical knowledge.
- 02The team picks where
The waiting room, a procedure room or the ward. Starting in one place makes it easier to settle the routine before taking it to another department.
- 03The first patient
A session supervised from start to finish, with a calm scenario. In bed or reclined, Lying-down mode goes on before the headset does.
04The routine, place by place
In the waiting room
A professional stays nearby for the whole session. The headset blocks out what is going on around: agree beforehand how the patient will be told it is their turn, so it does not come as a surprise. Take the headset off gently.
During a procedure
Agree beforehand who stays with the session: the hands of whoever performs the procedure are busy. The session starts before the procedure and stops at any moment if the patient or the team ask.
On the ward
In bed, turn on Lying-down mode: the horizon follows the tilt of the head and the scenario looks level. In a shared room, set the volume before starting.
Between patients
A slightly damp wipe on the silicone cover and a dry microfibre cloth on the lenses. The same before the headset moves to another department, and at the end of the day, back on charge.
Choosing content
The team picks the scenario. RVer can rank the library and explain why it suggested something, but it does not prescribe, assess or diagnose.
Updates
Automatic, at any hour, never mid-session. At no extra cost.
05Safety and hygiene
Class I medical device (base product) · CE marked (MDR 2017/745) · registered in EUDAMED (Basic UDI-DI 56006195127RVERTZ) and with INFARMED (Portugal, CDM 94571546). Follow these points every session.
Supervision
Always use the RVer system under supervision; never leave the user alone with the headset.
Hygiene between users
Between users, wipe the silicone cover (one washable cover comes with the kit) with a slightly damp wipe, and clean the lenses only with a dry microfibre cloth, no liquids or alcohol.
Signs of discomfort
Stop if dizziness, nausea or discomfort appears. Start with short sessions and calm videos, then increase duration and intensity gradually.
Space and position
Prefer seated use in a clear, stable space. For bedridden users, enable Lying-down mode.
Comfortable volume
Set a volume that is comfortable for the user before starting, on the headset itself.
Data and privacy
Playback runs 100% offline, no accounts. No clinical or personal patient data leaves the headset. Only per-device usage statistics are sent, identifying no one, to improve the app · GDPR-compliant.
Contraindications
Caution or prior clinical assessment in: severe motion sickness or vestibular disorders; uncontrolled epilepsy or photosensitive seizures; inability to follow safety instructions.
Intended user
Healthcare professionals and trained carers, in health or social-care settings. The user is always supervised. Not for self-administration.

Report any serious incident to the manufacturer (hi@rver.pt) and to INFARMED, I.P.
